Honestly, I do not see any reason she should have spilled it to the public and if she felt like she had to tell, don't give his name. It was something in the past and why rehash it. I feel it could be damaging to his marriage now even though it was past.

I agree with this - however I know exactly why she did it - it goes back to the old adage, 'sex sells' and by releasing this info she is sparking discussion and interest in her book that has just been published.

It doesn't change my opinion of Barbara Walters at all, I never did hold her in high regard. I can commend her for her achievements in a male dominated profession - but as a personality - bleuch!

Lisa, I agree, it could make the new wife uneasy knowing her man has an adulterer past. I think it would me.

Albee, I think you hit it on the nose. Her book is either out our coming out. I have to say I’m curious about it. She embodies woman power with grace.

I was never a big fan of hers but warmed up to her when she started the View show. I think it is more of a respect warm, like you said; she has accomplished A LOT as a woman.

The part I see as bizarre and I wonder; would this story get as much attention if she were a man?

I agree, it's probably a publicity stunt, and not the nicest one at that.

But we can't be sure what exactly spurred her revelation...it just wasn't a very positive one for sure.
