I love to read, mostly fiction though. Since I became a SAHM again, I made a promise to myself to read more. I usually get so wrapped up in family stuff, that I forget to take time for myself! So, when I need some quiet "me" time, I read (usually when the kids are in bed). I just finished "Deep Dish" by Mary Kay Andrews. It was pretty good; I like most of her books, especially the "Savannah" ones. I was just wondering what others are currently reading. I'm always on the lookout for something new. I used to just read John Grisham novels. I branched out a little and started reading Nicolas Sparks, Mary Kay Andrews, Janet Evanovich, Jennifer Crusie, and Sophie Kinsella. Just recently, I've gotten into some Christian fiction, or really Christian "chick literature", like Kristin Billerbeck, Anne Dayton, May Vanderbilt, Tracey Bateman, Denise Hildreth, & Elizabeth White.
So, what are you reading this week?

I read "The Notebook" by Nicolas Sparks. I really enjoyed that. I know my sister has read many of his books, but that is my only one.

I LOOOOOOVE to read. Unfortunately I never get a chance to. I try to spend as much time as I can with my little ones. I am on a laptop in the floor with Lillian right now in her room playing toys. Most of my spare time I use to work on PolkMoms. It is a good and fair trade I would say though. I love my job.

At night when the whole house is in bed I do a lot of work, many of you may have seen me on here late. I have seen a few of you as night owls too, lol. I know how it is. Sometimes that is a mom's only time to herself.

At night is when I use to read myself. I have been picking up and putting down the book by Elizabeth Gilbert "eat pray love" My sister in law gave it to me for Christmas. It is a need to be open minded read. Has some interesting parts and different perspectives. I'm 2/3s done. I need to make myself read something. I'm up for some suggestions....

Shawn, I loved the "Notebook" by Nicolas Sparks! It was the first book of his that I read. The movie was good, too. You should try "The Wedding" by him also. It kind of goes along with "The Notebook".

I love reading too. I read quite a bit online, which is great cause it's free. Articles or online books. Lots of great stuff out there.

Well, one of the courses I am in right now is Children's Literature and I just finished my "Happy Hundred", where we had to read, critique and list classroom applications for 100 children's books. I can honestly say that this has been my daughter's most favorite homework assignment that Mommy has had!!! I have read nothing BUT children's books for the past 10 weeks and although we read every day, all the time, I have been buying her more new books than usual.

The last non-children's book I read was "The Ruins".

vegasmom your reading exactly what i have been reading lately. it seems like i haven't had any time to read an adult book. but i always make time to read a book or two to brooke before bed. we read a lot of dr seuss. he's my fav.

I LOVE DR. Seuss, but it's pretty wordy. After my daughter requests the third Seuss book I'm almost hoarse.

I read Derailed by James Siegel. This is the book that the movie Jennifer Aniston is in was based on. I liked the book. As is usual, I would read the book first before watching the movie. Very interesting story.
