I am new to polkmoms.com and have seen a few mentions of MOPS...there was a post about the group meeting at the church of the mall in Lakeland. I googled MOPS and found the website interesting. I have a 3 yr old son and would love go to a MOPS group at least to see what it is all about. Can anyone give me some more info about MOPS?

MOPS IS Mother's Of Preschoolers. There are several groups that meet locally. They are faith based. Ours is at First Baptist Church at the Mall. Which is off of Memorial. It's a large church. You do not have to attend our church to go. The classes are held during the school year. We have day and night MOPS. There is childcare provided.

I too was a part of a MOPS group. There is one that meets in Winter Haven on Tuesday mornings (2x a month). It was such an encouragement for me to be part of this group and I would recommend it to anyone with children upto age 5.

I hope you ladies don't mind but I moved this topic to the preschool section since it is topic related and the preschool section needs "fatting up" a bit.

I believe most of them are over for the summer, I will get you some more information tomorrow when I see my friend who leads the one at First Baptist at the mall.

Day MOPS meets on Thursday at 9:30 in the morning. Night MOPS meets at 6:30 on Wednesday nights. Both meet at FBC at the Mall.

I found the mops at the mall website for the MOPS at the First Baptist Church in Lakeland it is www.mopsatthemall.com the information is for the year that just ended, but there are email addresses on the site to get information from the coordinators.

I was told yesterday that MOPS might be moving to Tuesday mornings instead of Thursday mornings. I will keep you posted when I find out more.
