I thought this was some to the point, quick, and good tips on how to prepare you and the little one for the big day.

Enjoy!

This sounds like good advice. My son will start preschool in August, and I am very nervous about it. I will remember all of these tips to help me out - even though he is very excited about going to school.

This is great info (Shawn, you always have the best links!).
It was very hard on Alexis going to daycare. She started going at 2 years old and it was heart breaking. As soon as we would pull into the parking lot she would start crying. I knew the daycare from my oldest daughter going there so I was very confident in her being there and knew they were taking excellent care of her... but it would tear my heart out to leave her! I would have to hand her to the teacher (and by this point Alexis was crying so much she had the whole snot thing going on!) and watch her reach for me as I was walking away. I would tell her that mommy would be back because mommies always come back and then I'd go out to my car crying myself! The first several weeks I called the daycare so much just to check on her. It took Lexi MONTHS to settle in. One of the teachers and I were reflecting on that the other day. I dropped Lexi off and she ran out the door and was greeted by a chorus of "Lexi!" and kids trying to get her to come play with them... we talked about what a long way she had come and I remembered that crying, snotty nosed child and how much it broke my heart to leave her. In that moment my heart was so full of love and I just stood there and marvelled at the social little girl that was running around the playground (p.s. I had to call her back for a goodbye hug and kiss!)

I don't have a name anymore, I've simply become "Alyssa's mom" or "Alexis' mom"
