i'm planing on being there with my 2 yr old. she loves blueberrys. hopefully i'll be able to make it home with some. lol for the person who asked what to do with them. i use them in my blueberry muffins, or put them in pancakes. you can make jelly or jam out of them or pies. they also freeze really well to use at a later date. my daughter loves them plain and they are so healthy. i'm excited i can't wait.

Bring and tell as many as you can!

I agree Courtney, Blueberries are not only yummy but oh so good for you. I have read many times that blueberries are miracle food. They are packed with good stuff!

Alright ladies, I have more infomation for you, it gets better and better. The farm is completely pesticide and chemical free. They only use natural fertilizers and absolutely no pesticides. The co-owner I talked to said they even use a deep well for watering not surface pond water.

So the berries are safe to eat on site!!!!

As far as bringing your own pail, you can, I think it would be cute to bring small sand pails for the little ones, but the gentleman said that they have pails to use also, he said, "All you have to do is come".

I confirmed with him Friday, April 25th at 10:00 am and he said it was all good and would not schedule another large group with us.

I'm going to be optimistic and hope that it will not rain. I will be there rain or shine Big Grin

I love all the RSVP's! Even if you don’t plan ahead, you can still come, just do it! I wanted to add that moms of older children that are in school, feel free to come with out them. I want this to be a meet and greet get together for the kids, but I want moms to meet each other too. Ladies you can let this be a day to stock up your fridge with yummy blueberries and meet other ladies.
Plus you moms with no kids can help with my monkeys -lol, just kidding, but you will get what I am saying when you see them, I'm shaking my head right now thinking about Lillian Big Grin

I know my 12 year olds are begging me to let them skip school one day to come; I will have to take them back on a weekend.

Michele the address of the farm is

3320 Shady Oak Drive East - Lakeland Florida

I know it is a drive for you ladies on that side of the county, and I really didn't want to do this location because of that. But trust me, after many phone calls and farms later, this was the only one that I talked to that was receptive to us bringing wee ones.

Our next outing I want to do closer to Winter Haven, mid access to Davenport, Haines City, Lake Wales, Etc.

I hope someone can car pool with you Michele Smiler

Also for you Haines City /Davenport area moms, this would be very close, and you would probably be able to beat my time there, by going I4. This street is very close to the I4 ramp in Lakeland.

Shawn, Hey do you think it would be okay if I brought a wagon to pull around Savannah? Not sure if I would or even could pull her through the rows but just around in general. It may make things a bit easier. Savannah is now 17 months. What do you think about wagons?

Ann, I am not sure how wide the blueberry "aisles" are. I am sure it would be fine to bring the wagon for other areas of the farm. If you would like to question the farm manager about the farm layout you could give him a call? I posted our trip in the events calendar here on PolkMoms. If you click on the heading it gives you more information about the trip. If you click on the farm name link, it will give info on the farm with the phone number. Smiler

Hi ladies!

I'm new to this website, but I had to reply to your post. I live in the neighborhood where this farm is, and I have bought many pounds of blueberries there. They are absolutely the best blueberries you'll ever have! My two-year-old, Stone, loves them. We haven't ever picked them ourselves, though, but I'll bet it would be a blast. I am a FT working mom, so I can't join you-but I will tell my Mother-in-law who watches Stone, and see if she can bring him by. Hope you all have a great time!
