Okay now, I love yard sales! You never know what you may find. To me it is like a little treasure hunt. I do not go near as much as I would like to but do manage to go once or twice a month. When my husband and I were Foster Parents, we found so much to help us get set up and maintain extra clothing and things for all the little ones that passed through our home. So many of them did not even arrive with a pair of shoes on! We always sent with them a pair or two of shoes along with some new clothes, and a new stuffed animal of their choice when it was time for them to depart. Our Foster/Adopt association will be setting up a clothing/Misc. items closet in the next few months so please do not throw out all the kids things just yet! I will gladly meet you to pick up anything that you would like to donate to the association. Thank you! Smiler

mom of a sqaured,
Wow, that is wonderful! Thank you so, so much! We can use any sizes in male or female. Toys are fine also. There are plenty of children that would love an extra toy or two. I live in North Lkld. but I will be more than happy to meet you North, South or Central. Ha! Where is good for you?

mom of a sqaured, let me know what would be a good day and place to meet you so I could pick up the boxes of donated items. I will be working in Winter Haven tomorrow at "All Saints Academy" and back in north lkld. on Thurs. & Fri. My work hours are 2-6 p.m. plus travel time. Sat. or Sun. would actually be best for me. That way my hubby could come along.

American, Hello and thanks for the comments! Most of our association members are foster and adoptive parents through "Heartland for Children", therefore Heartland supports our associations in various ways. My husband and I are trying to make the decision now on weather to become foster parents again through Heartland, like we did before or go through the Fl. Baptist Children's Home this time. "FBCH" requires it's foster parents to be confessing christians, in which we are. Members of the Polk County Foster/adopt association will benefit from donations no matter who they are licensed through. With all of that said, I want to tell you that I know your donations would be much appreciated and put to good use in our association. But, "FBCH" is also a wonderful choice to donate to. Hope all of this makes sense. It is way past my bedtime!
