Hi guys....I will be getting married Fall 2008! My little girl is going to be my flower girl...which should be interesting seeing as how she will only be about 2! Anyway, I was wondering if any of you guys had some suggestions on some wedding ideas.....fall themes, any good cake decorators, things like that! Any information would be greatly appreciated! Oh wow! you hit on my favorite subject, weddings! I have a very good list of contacts I made when I just did a bridal show. Where are you located? is distance an issue?
ok fall themes.. I love the new colors with the chocolate brown and a light pastel (I have seen people pair the tiffany blue or pink with it) I have even seen people use the more elegant autumn leaves color and take it to a higher level with a gold leaf touch.
As far as cakes I met a really great one in Auburndale called Its a Piece of Cake by Maggi. If you want email me and I will be more than happy to get you some contacts I have made that I have first hand seen.

Smile, It makes people wonder what you are up to!

Congratulations Krystal! I bet Savannah will make a beautiful flower girl!

Do you have a location picked out? Hubby and I got married at Bok Tower, it was so peaceful, beautiful and tranquil.

I just saw a flyer/magazine in a nail salon a couple of days ago that was all about weddings in our area. I wish I would have grabbed one.

We did a wedding cake from Publix. I love their butter cream. If you decide to do Publix, not all stores are equal in their ability. Ask to see when they have a wedding cake order and come see it before it is picked up. They are reasonably priced too! Keep us updated.

Michele, how unique and cool! We should post wedding pics of all of us so Krystal could get some visual ideas? Bouquets, cakes, locations, etc....

JamilaM,
Thank you for all of your information. I have heard of that cake decorator they actually did a cake for my nephew's First birthday and my Baby Shower and they turned out great! My e-mail is kgbc2006@aol.com if you would send me those contacts I would greatly appreciate it!

It would be great if all of you posted pictures!! I would love to see them to give me some more ideas!
Mamchele,
Thanks for the great ideas! The recipe cards sound like great wedding favors......the dinner idea is great too....... it would probably cut down on expenses quite a bit.

Shawn,
We are actually planning on doing our wedding in a church with a small reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. I am still trying to decide if we are going to do dinner or just have a Dessert Reception...... caterers are so very expensive and I am planning on having about 100 guests! We actually prefer Publix cakes, while It's A Piece of Cake by Maggie does beautiful cakes, I'm not too crazy about the taste........ I do love Publix's buttercream icing as well!! I actually buy it with the Bakery's chocolate chip cookies......it is great...Savannah loves it as a treat.....as far as the cake decorator's abilities, I know that Lake Miriam Publix does the best job at decorating cakes. Even living in Bartow, my family always makes the trip to get the cakes from that store.

Having just finished with our daughter's wedding this past week-end everything is still fresh in our minds. We did all of the food, decorations and flowers ourselves. Even though it was a little hectic it was a tasty, beautiful event. You'll be surprised how much your family and friends will be willing to help you out. I agree that the Lake Mirian Publix produces the BEST cakes! Yummy!
We had a candy buffet that was a big hit! Assorted wrapped and unwrapped candies of the bride and grooms favorites. These were used as favors.
Another favor that was a big hit were wedding cookies that were bagged, tied with a coordinating ribbon with a small card that read "Thanks for sharing our Special Day"
They were in the shape of a wedding cake and were decorated in the chosen colors of the day. They were absolutely delicious! I can supply the information for ordering those to anyone that would like them. $1.25 each but well, well worth it! Email me with any specific questions and I will let you know sources that we used and any other information that I can help you with! Congratulations!

Krystal, with any get together I have ever done cheese cake always goes over well.

At Sam's club, they sell a large box in the frozen section of small, (I think they are square?) bite sized pieces of assorted flavors of cheese cake. There is a lot in a box. 2 or 3 of those boxes would go a loooooong way. They are killer good, yum, yum!

Do you like the Ferrero Rocher chocolates? They are so good. You could stack them like a pyramid, it would be gold, they are wrapped in gold foil good for fall colors and eye catching?

Find pretty bowls or baskets to display Hershey kisses. Nothing says love like a kiss!

My best friend just did a sunflower themed wedding and it turned out LOVELY.
She did 3 sunflowers in a small vase as the center pieces then I made mini candy bar wrappers with their name and date on them, then we had small heart vases on each table that had a floating sunflower in them, the we did little watering cans with a sunflower on the side of them with a seed packet on the inside-
The favors we did for people to take with them were little boxes filled with hugs and kisses then a small sun dried sunflower and the saying "Hugs and Kisses from the Mr. and Mrs."

Hey Ladies!!!! I have an update on the wedding plans........they have changed a little now.........we have decided to make a vacation out of it and go up to Tennessee and get married.....we are going to bring family along a spend about a week up there in a cabin......oh it is so beautiful...those of you who have been in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Wears Valley area know what I am talking about!!! It will allow us to enjoy spending time with family, save us some money, and give us a great honeymoon trip!!! A friend of ours who was going to marry us is moving out of state so we are making other plans......but it's okay.......I think we are making the better choice!!
