I am a mom of one. He will be one on the 24th of May. And I feel alone. I don't know anyone in Lakeland. No friends or family here. So I am always alone and bored. I have tried to meet new friends and mom. But in reality, it is easier to make friends as kids than as adults. You more picky and careful. I also realize that most of the moms on here is married, so they have their husband to turn to. I am a single mom. My fam lives in Orlando and around the world. So I have no one close by. I sign up with polk moms to meet new friends and moms. I hope it works. I am tired of being bored. And my son would love a playmate. When I take him out and he see other kids he turns away, because he is not use to them at all. He is shy to playing with kids. I am from the island so most of my friends and family are there. So I hope to meet new people soon. Bye
My son usually doesn't have anyone to play with on the weekends and he is going to be two in June. Maybe we can meet at a park in Lakeland and see how they and we hit it off?

Hi...I am the mother of an 18 month old girl..we too are alone most of the day. We stay active with the pool and the park, but I would still love for her to have more interaction with other children. It would be great to get together at a park so our kids can play...email me kepotts11@yahoo.com thanks

Thank you all for the replies and care. Yes we need to meet up at the park or the mall..where ever is kids/baby friendly. Please lets do sometrhing. Like the weekends or whatever works. KEPOTTS11..nice u have a pool, I would love for my baby to learn how to swim because I can't. (even though I am from an island). So moms lets arange something. Someone can be incharge of the meet. I am no leader, but I am cool with following others leads.
Yea Shawn! Thanks in advance for arranging another meet up! Welcome to all of you that are new to Polk Moms! Be sure to keep reading Shawn's post about the next meet up. I'm looking forward to meeting and making new friends.
Just an FYI for the moms new to the site that want to meet others, there is a post/discussion on here somewhere about playgroups. That's always a good thing, too! I have 2 daughters, one is in school (she's 7) and the other will be 3 on Sunday. I am a SAHM also. I take my daughter to a playgroup at our church. Also, I recently joined Polkplaygroup.com. Most of my friends are working moms, and although I tend to be a "homebody", I realize my daughter is at an age that she needs some interaction with kids her age! So, if someone arranges another playdate or if someone wants to get together, let me know! Welcome again and I hope you find this website helpful!
