Okay mommies I need a little advice. I am a SAHM to a 6 month old son and feel like I cannot get anything done around the house. Since summer is here I was thinking about hiring a babysitter to watch my son for a couple of hours a week. So I can clean and get stuff done around the house. Has anyone done this before? Did it help and how much is babysitting going for these days? I will take any advice. THANK YOU!

when i was a teenager i used to watch a ladys children while she cleaned and did stuff around her house. she was usually around so i didn't get paid much but it helped her out a lot. i do not know the going baby sitter rate. since it's getting close to summer you could get one of the local junior high school kids to watch your child at your house. then you can see how they are with your child.

I did this last year. My sitter came every Wed morning for 2-3 hours. She is a teenager in my neighborhood. I would clean and do grocery shopping during this time. It was great help! I paid her 7 an hour.

My daughter is interested in babysitting this summer, she will be 14 in July. Kara has lots of experience with children, between me and my ex (her dad) she has 8 siblings.
