Ok, so I have a question and a confession. Not only am I a teacher and a single mom of a very cool 7-year-old (like that's not enough), but I am also a freelance writer for The Ledger.
I am writing a story about Mother's Day and how some husbands view this holiday as something they shouldn't purchase gifts or cards for. My question then becomes, has anyone experienced this phenomenon? And how did you deal with it? As a single mom, I must confess that the whole Mother's Day gift idea is a thing of the past for me. I happily settle for kisses and maybe a homemade card from my son (which is worth it's weight in gold, by the way). If anyone has any stories or would be willing to talk or email me about this, please let me know! Thanks Jenn |

I have a two year old and have recently gotten a divorce with my husband so I too will go without a Mother's Day gift from anyone but my little precious baby and honestly I would much rather rock her and kiss her and read books to her and watch The Little Mermaid with her than get any other gift. That is the most precious gift of all just to be with her.
Another question! Did you ever sub or teach at Fort Meade HS?? |
