Ok so I am not a Polk mom YET but I want to be ASAP. Oh yeah I have a 16 month old son. Cool I am an OB RN who is looking for a job as we are tired of crazy busy Chicago suburb living and snow. I think I would love LRMC since it seems to be about the size of where I work now but I am also wondering about Brandon hospital or any others in the area. LRMC has no openings in my area but Brandon does. We really want to live in/near Lakeland so would it be too far to drive to Brandon? ANY info you can give me about different hospitals, areas, your experiences, or anything else would be greatly appreciated (or if you know anyone who can get me in haha)! We are coming down next month and was hoping to go to an interview or two while we are there. My husband will need an accounting job too. Thanks so much!!!

Cool Ilovesun! It is neato that you are checking out the area and us here at PolkMoms before you come!

I hope someone can help you out at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Have you called and talked to someone there? I do know the lady, not really well, that runs the OB ward there. I can talk to her if you like?

As far as accounting, phew, I know you are glad April 15th came and went. I love the accounting firm, Bunting, Tripp and Ingley in Lake Wales. They are a pretty large firm and very family oriented. I use to work there Big Grin and loved it. Tax season was grueling and the reason I don't work there any more. It is hard to be a momma working those hours between Jan. and April 15, and even after that you have the extensions! Anyway, they could be hiring? Worth looking into, nice people to work for!

I work at LRMC in Pharmacy and just looked at the job postings and see that they have a weekend position in L&D, also many other positons in different depts. The best thing is to apply online at www.lrmcjobs.com. You can put me down as a referral Alisa Robbins, I used to work in L&D admissions.

Thank you for the info. I would love have ANY insider info available. I would really love to know if they are going to have any postpartum jobs available soon. I have 4 yrs experience, have worked day shift for two yrs but willing to do nights if needed. I know about the L&D position but it is weekends only, which won't work for us very well also I prefer postpartum. Thank you so much for the referral though Momof5!
