Is there anyone here that is keeping their child(ren) home on Good Friday? I think we are going to. We weren't really decided earlier.. Is this the first year schools are open that day? It seems like it. We just put our oldest back in public school recently, we were homeschooling.

No, I am thinking, moms correct me if I am wrong, that last year was a teacher work day. Teachers had to go to work but students stayed home. Remember though it was considered a work day, not a holiday.
I think this happened from the outcry from the year before. There was school on Good Friday that year. I remember being shocked that happened. I sent my boys. I hate for them to miss school. It definitely can be debated whether they should be in school or not, I think you can still convey the importance of the day to your wee ones. That is my plan. ~Mother to Brandon, Austin, Ethan, Ryan and Lillian~ |

Polk Schools Ready for Good Friday
The holiday is a school day this year, but school officials don't expect many absences. Thought this link was prudent http://www.theledger.com/article/20080321/NEWS/803210359/1134 ~Mother to Brandon, Austin, Ethan, Ryan and Lillian~ |
