Hi everyone! I recently found out I am pregnant with #2. I just moved to Winter Haven from Lakeland and I am looking for a doctor that will accept Medicaid and either delivers at Heart of Florida or Regency Medical Center. I went to Exodus for my first pregnancy and actually delivered at St Josephs (lucky me!) but I cant see making a 2+ hour drive if I should go into labor. I know nothing about Winter Haven, any guide as far as OB-GYN's, clinics, or those 2 hospitals would help tremendously. I called Gessler and Bond Clinics and neither accept Medicaid, so Im sort of at a stand still. Thanks in advance for any help!! Chandra
I WENT TO THE BOND CLINIC WHEN I WAS PREGNANT WITH MY DAUGHTER, I SAW THE MIDWIVES BUT THEY WERE REALLY NICE. I DELIVERD AT THE REGENCY, YOU SHOULD GIVE THEM A CALL.

I also live in W.H. and loved the Regency. I had a very high risk pregnancy due to my blood pressure and gestational diabetes, I was in and out of that place so many times and they always took really great care of me. The nurses and staff are awesome and it was the only time I've been to a hospital and was seen very quickly each time.
As far as the OB/GYN I used Bond Clinic but I believe there is a private practice on Avenue K SE (across from the Regency), but I don't know if they take Medicaide. Good Luck and I wish you and your baby all the best.
i live in winter haven also, im currently pregnant with #5 and on medicaid. im going to a midwife in lakeland called labor of love.
you can always try and call mom care to find out who in winter haven takes mediciad. my sister in law goes to a free clinic and they take medicaid and you can go to the regency to give birth.
Well I had no luck finding any prenatal care clinics in Winter Haven that accepted Medicaid. I called Regency Medical Center and talked to the physician referral line, who also told me that no doctors who deliver there accept Medicaid. So at any rate, I made an appointment at Heart of Florida OB-GYN, their doctors DO accept Medicaid, and they also have an office in Winter Haven and in Davenport by H.O.F. hospital. I will deliver at H.O.F. hospital with the same doctors who will be providing my prenatal care. My appointment is January 2, so I will be back to update then on any details. Thank you everyone for the help!
I hope all goes well for you there but just to warn you a few girls Ive wotked with in the past went there and were unhappy. I have heard more than once of them waiting hours and then beilng told they would have to come another day because the doctor was out of the office. One girl even went in for her long awaited ultrasound and was told her appointment wasn't on the books. I hope they do better for you. If you need a backup plan consider Lakeland OB-GYN. I think they take medicaid and they deliver at LRMC which I have always had positive experiences with. Congratulations and best of luck to you!
I've heard good and bad things about Heart of Florida OB-Gyn but ever place you go has flaws no matter what. I was told HOF is a nice hospital to deliver in. Me I personally like Lakeland. If things don't work out Central Florida Health Care in Lkld- By lkld OBgyn accepts medicaid. But you'd have to transfer before 28 weeks and they'd have to approve the transfer.
