Hey,
Just curious, how many of you are pregnant right now? When is your due date, boy or girl? I am pregnant with #2, due date is Sept 15th. I'm not finding out the sex of the baby because I love a real surprise in life. I didn't find out with my little girl Lacie either. Mommy to Lacie and Dillon |

First, I'm NOT pregnant, (thankfully at this point in my life, lol) but I did want to say I think it's cool you're waiting to find out what gender you're having. I did that with my last one, my son. I had the girls, and wanted a son to carry on the family name, but at the same time, I didn't want to be at all disappointed either way ~ and I knew that once they're born, it doesn't matter at all, you are just deliriously happy to see them regardless boy or girl. So, we decided not to find out. But man, when we first saw his weewee, we were over the moon, lol.
(But then he had an extended hospital stay which was quite scary, and we were just praying he'd be alright. His gender WAS the last thing on our minds at that point. So, I've found time and again, as parents, you learn to appreciate the truly important things, and gender, ehh... not so high on the list actually. Just call moi Rachel or Gjee. I'm also expecting #2 and due November 18th. We don't know the sex yet, but will find out as soon as possible. I am so NOT patient about things like that. I'm a planner so I want to be able to have the nursery done and the clothes bought, knowing that there's still a chance for a surprise in the end though.
We had a family friend who found out they were having a boy. Had the nursery done, almost all of the clothes were blue and monogramed with the boy's name. When she delivered it was a girl! Imagine their surprise!! But it was and still is a great story to tell. |

Congratulations little t.
I just wanted to say I was eager to find out my first two & I'm guessing, if we'd decided to have more after my son, we would've been keen to find out the gender then too...for us at that point we just wanted a son since we weren't planning to have any more children, but knew once the baby came, boy or girl, those tender feelings overcome any other expectations or hopes. I've heard stories too, of them sexing the baby wrong, but it is geting rarer I think, as the sonograms get better all the time. It's absolutely amazing what they can de & determine medically anymore. Oh, and that's a good month for birthdays. Just call moi Rachel or Gjee. Thanks Guitarjee!
November certainly is a popular month for birthdays (especially around our family). Both of my brothers, my s-i-l, my college roommate, my best friend from high school, my cousin, my husband's grandfather and more were all born in November, and my husband's grandparents and mine & my husband's anniversaries are both in November. I think we're pretty much guaranteed to hit somebody's day!! It's funny about the sex. As much as we want to know, we honestly don't care what we have - boy or girl. Our oldest is a girl so everyone assumes we (esp. hubby) wants a boy to round it out. But honestly, my husband looks at it like this - if it's a girl they can still do all the "fun" things boys can do (hunting, fishing, getting dirty - our oldest sure does!) AND be girly so you get the best of both worlds. If it's a boy then we've got the best of both worlds between the two kids. We're in a no-lose situation! |

Great way to look at it littleT. I love that perspective.
There are a couple of moms on here that actually knew me as a dirty mess of a child. I was the biggest tomboy but still loved to dress up and be "pretty", well as pretty as a freckle faced little girl could be, lol. I loved growing up a rough and tumbly little girl, it seems Lillian is following in my footsteps littleT we have to get our girls together! ~Mother to Brandon, Austin, Ethan, Ryan and Lillian~ |

Shawn, I've been wanting to get together with you and Lillian too! We've been crazy lately though - out of town, stomach viruses running through the family, crazy work schedules! We're going to be out of town for the next 4 weekends now (somehow that just doesn't sound relaxing!) but if you want to try to meet up one afternoon during the week (after 5:30ish) for a little while at the park just let me know and we'll see what we can do!

I just found out I am expecting baby number three. Everything is still new and I havn't even been to the doctor yet, but we are very excited. Because we lost our second baby due to a cord accident at t 34 weeks we are waiting until at least the first ultrasound before we tell everyone. I hate to seem so paranoid about losing again but I guess I just can't help it, I want to see that little heartbeat with my own two eyes before I share it with the world. We did not find out the gender either time and were happy with our little girls both times. I don't want to know again this time, and when I say all I care about is a healthy baby I really mean it! I think I will be due in Jan. but since I haven't had a period since my last baby Im not sure. I will have to find out through sonogram the exact due date.
P.S. Polkmoms are the only ones who know aside from family and we can use all the prayer we can get so keep us in your prayers please. |

Thanks everyone! I am so relieved I thought I would get some negativity about getting pregnant again so soon, not that it is anyones bussiness how soon it was but it is nice to tell people and get so many positive reactions. Shawn I have been working five nights and going to school the other two, so I have been a busy bee. Luckily it is only an eight week class so not too much longer and it will be over. I will keep everyone posted on due date and stuff. I am soo paranoid that there is no baby in there, I know it sounds weird but I just don't feel pregnant. My mom keeps saying that since the first two were girls maybe this time its a boy and so thats why I don't feel sick. Then she also says I should think positive and enjoy this pregnancy and if for some reason something is wrong we can all get through it together, and at least if everything is ok than I will know I gave this pregnancy all the excitement I gave the other two.
