There are only two places that I know of around this area that use midwives. Labor of Love is one. They have their own facility with a tub and home setting. They also have the option of doing a home birth. I am sure you would have to speak with them to see which would fit your family better. The other facility that has midwives is Central Florida Women's Care. They are in the same building with Lakeland OBGYN. They do their deliveries at LRMC. If there are any complications, or your pregnancy becomes high risk for some reason, the physicians at Lakeland OBGYN would also follow your care.

I used the midwives with three of my four pregnancies. I loved them and wish I would have used them for my third pregnancy. They seem to show more care than the doctors do. They can care for some high risk depending on what it is. If they can't care for you the Lkld OB doctors may take over your care or they will refer you to Bartow high risk clinic. I do know with no insurance that the fees vary from 1250 to 2500 and they can put you on a payment plan but it is limited to certain test and doesn't cover extra sonos or nst's. You said no ins. have you tried for medicaid? They have a pregnancy medicaid that will cover your pregnancy or even share of cost which will help cover some cost depending on your amount.

i went to labor of love with my last child. i loved them.. i planned on a home birth which they do if u live within 30 mins. i ended up having my little one at LRMC she had low fluid around her. mary anne and the other midwives are very sweet.. mary anne is on a cross country biking till june.. the cost is $4000 with no insurance, they take medicaid. they have 3 birth rooms.. 2 with beds 1 with a birth tub which is $150 insurance does not pay for. all the nurses are sweet they take the time to talk with you in detail. i had to go see dr barrett and i spent maybe a total of 30 mins with him the whole time i had to see him thats the 6 visits and after giving birth which my hubby delivered. the labor of love midwives see 2 people an hour so u get alot of talk time with them.. if u want to see a midwife id go to labor of love.
