Shawn,
I am so sorry to hear about you miscarriage. Dr. Jardine, Dr. Pierre-Louis, and Dr. Ratleff were very good to me, and I guess everyone's experience can be different. I have only had one pregnancy so I can only speak on one experience, but I do think that I will probably use another doctor should I ever have another child, not because of the doctors, but because of their billing department. As you said, they have a way of come up with ridiculous reasons for charges!

Ladies,
I also wanted to add something:

I don't know about other doctors in this area, but a con of Gessler Clinic is that if you have seen another obstetrician with your current pregnancy, as far as I know Gessler Clinic doctors will NOT take you on. It might be more widespread than just them, but I wanted to just let you ladies know that.

shawn i'm sorry about your miscarriage. i have also had one. before my daughter was born. so i know how tragic it is. and emotional for your next pregnancy. the billing crap the nurse pulled on you is not right. i used to do medical billing in new york. i did it for 10 years. and they could have changed that diagnosis and re billed it with an explaination. we used to do it all the time. it's false billing. if they don't change it you could have fought it.

Thank you Krystal and Courtney. I am sorry for you too Courtney. Frowner It seems miscarriage is all to common. I saw that American announced two. Frowner
The euphoria of knowing you have a child on the way, and then the baby is gone. It really is emotional.
I want a miscarriage thread started in pregnancy or women's health to allow moms to share their stories about miscarriage- symptoms and signs to able and alert pregnant moms of any problems they could be experiencing. If there is a momma out there willing to start this -go for it. If not, I will do this soon. Smiler

I really like Dr. Schwartz also! I bumped into her shopping one day and she was so cool. She talked to me for a long time. So very personable. I saw her on rotation and would pick her as my #2 if Dr. Hopper was not available.

Bond Clinic in WH has some great OB's. I saw Dr. Salamon for my 1st pregnancy and Dr. Gabriel delivered. I loved them both. I am seeing Dr Salamon now (I am due today) for our second baby. I have met Drs. Gatto and Kennan and really like them, too. If you want to deliver at the Regency, Bond and Gessler clinic OB's are the only ones to see!

Another vote for Dr. Hopper with Watson Clinic...I actually went to Dr. Barrett WHO IS SO WONDERFUL.....Dr. Hopper delivered my daughter at 18 hours of labor ending in an emergency c section. Even though Dr. Hopper delivered, Dr. Barrett came to see me every day while I stayed in the hospital. I love both of them....

Dr. Salamanca and Dr. Alkass is my OB/GYN. They have offices in Davenport, Lake Wales, and Winter Haven. They deliver out of Heart of Florida on Hwy 27 in Davenport. They are a wonderful group of doctors. They have delivered four of my five children at this hospital. Dr. Salamanca delivered one in Lake Wales 11 years ago. I have been very pleased with their manners and level of concern. The hospital stay and staff are wonderful. Their number is (863)421-7600. There are 2 other doctors as well you will have to see, but Dr. Salamanca and Alkass are the ones who delivered my children.

Lakeland OB/GYN is were I went. I just gave birth this past January. Dr. Puretz was my main OB. Dr. Nixon ended up delivering my boy via c-section, she was great and did a bang up job with my incision and Dr. Damian performed my boys circumcision. There are five OB's at this practice that you rotate with towards the ends of your pregnancy. One of them is always on call at Lakeland Regional. Not only are the OB's super nice, but the nursing staff there are great as well. I definately recommend them.

Jess you brought up circumcisions- The prices are crazy!
Lakeland OB Doctors will do it for $250
Watson Clinic OB doctors will do it for $260

**Waston Clinic peds do a plasibell (easier procedure) for $160 *** Ask for Brenda Brogden at LRMC she is an ARPN that sees the babies while in the hospital with Dr. Ray.

Also most insurance companies will pay for the peds to do it at the hospital. Medicaid HMO's like Staywell, Amerigroup and Healthease pay for it if the peds do it in the hospital.

We did the plastibell with both the boys its much easier and you don't have to gauze or vaseline it. You do nothing and the bell thing they put on it falls off the same time they cord does!
