Hi ladies!
I was wondering if anyone has had experience delivering with the midwives at CFHC? Any advice or recommendations would be nice.

I LOVE the midwives- They delivered 3 of my 4. They are awesome and seem to care. Now for the company I won't go there as I use to work for CFHC and was fired for being out too long due to pregnancy complications. There are long waits sometimes 1-2 hours depending on the emergency- but we use to tell the patients you go wait in line at disney for an hour for a 2 minute ride- it's worth the wait to be sure you baby is doing good. Then people wouldn't complain as they didn't look at it that way.
Anyhow- just my opinion- Check your insurance- CFHC has an awesome payment plan that helps people it goes by income.

Labor of Love is nice! I tried going there with my last pregnancy, and they determined I was high risk because of some medication I was on and because my sons have a genetic syndrome. I am hoping that this time, because I am not on anything, I will be okay with going with a midwife. The only reason now, for me, for not going to Labor of Love, is that you have to go home within hours of childbirth, and still take the baby to get checked out the next day. I am one of those crazy people that wants to be in the hospital and be taken care of for a couple of days after delivery. I wish you the best on your delivery! Thank you for responding!

I don't mind waiting. I have had five kids, and I don't remember not having to wait a long time for a prenatal appointment. Sometimes that is a sign that they are good, right? Thanks for the encouragement!

They are really good. Jill has been there the longest- She was there when I had my first one and is still there. They are very good- Esther the sono tech is great!! The wait is well worth it- And being they are one of the only place left taking medicaid they see a lot of patients. Do not mention anything about high risk because that will send a red flag at the front desk and sometimes they will refer you to Bartow High Risk as soon as they here that- Midwives don't really do any high risk if they know up front- but since they deliver at the hospital they probably can see some of the patients Labor of Love says they can't.

CFHC is right beside Lakeland OBGyn on Lakeland Hills Blvd. (They just started construction on the new building on the other side of the street.) They are across from the Watson Clinic Cancer Center- there number is 863-686-0082. Fina or Jessica have been there for a while and I'm sure can give you the best information.
