"The infertility drug clomifene citrate and artificial insemination do little to help certain couples who can't have children naturally, according to Scottish researchers."

Did anyone use either of these techniques and have success?

I conceived using clomifene citrate, and have a healthy 13 year old to prove it. My husband and I tried for 5 years with no luck. Once my doctor tried the clomifene citrate, I was pregnant within 5 months.

I have been trying to conceive for one year now and was just diagnosed with PCOS last month. I have been prescribed metformin and if that doesn't work by December I'm going on clomid. Anyone have any luck with metformin?

I tried clomid. It didn't work. I fall into the category of no apparent reason for not getting pregnant: "Textbook" was the word my doc used after my lap to describe the structure and workings of my female parts. I hated it. It made me the devil because it simulates menopause. But if it works for you, maybe it is worth it. I have a good friend who conceived twins with the help of both treatments mentioned.

I tried naturally for a year with no luck. Doctor had me try Clomid assisted IUI and I got pregnant on the first try. I just choose not to listen to all the studies b/c they offer so much conflicting information. As for the side effects of Clomid, I had none so it just varies from person to person.
