This may be related to the terrible twos, but Hayley has now refused to nap several days running. So far her general mood and demeanor have not been affected, but it is running me ragged!! Any suggestions on how to re-instate naptime without a war would be appreciated. Thanks!

Not so sure about reinstating the nap time-maybe you can try this. When I was a preschool teacher we had several students who did not nap, but we told them they still had to lay down and do something quietly for at least 1 1/2 hours. They did this and sometimes they would even fall asleep. Maybe you can tell her it is quiet time and this is a special time to watch a movie or read a bunch of books. Hope that helps.

That is what I do with my 2 & 4 year old.
We have what we call Quiet Time. I turn on a movie, and they can sit there and watch the movie. It is quiet time for them, and my time to get stuff done around the house, or to just rest with them. Sometimes they do fall asleep, but most of the time, they just relax and watch the movie.

I also have ''Quiet Time'' for my kids (2 & 4).
I put on a movie and let them watch it.
They understand that it's quiet time, and they sit & watch the movie. I usually use this time to get housework done, but sometimes, I will relax and watch the movie with them.
Sometimes, they do fall asleep, others they don't. It works well for me though.

My Lacie (27 mos) has also started to change a little on her naps. She has been taking one nap a day since she was 12 mos old. I have been a SAHM since then so there was no need to wake her up at 6am anymore. She gets up between 8-9am and takes a 2 hour nap from 1-3pm. So the last month she seems to go later like 2pm. I just think they change their sched as they get older. I read that some give up a nap at 3 yrs old, but majority will nap till 4 years old. Maybe not 2 hours but they still may take at least 30-45 minutes.
I don't know your Hayley's sched but maybe move the wake up time back or if she takes 2 naps cut back to one.
I know how those days are with no naps! We had 2 of those days last week and I do not like those days either! Good luck.
