There is a Mommy and Me meet up group that meets at Family Fundamentals which is located on the second floor of the big building on the corner of Memorial and Lakeland Hills Boulevard.
If you call (863) 686-1221 they can tell you when the meetings are - when I used to go it was Wed or Thurs mornings from 10am til 11:30.
I started going here when my daughter was 2 months old and met wonderful women there and made great friends whom I still see regularly.
The group is facilitated by Juli Davis, and she is also a certified Car Seat Technician, and has lots of advice on kids and their car seats.

There's a mom's playgroup at Highland Park Chuch of the Nazarene in south Lakeland. They meet on Thursday mornings at 10am in the Family Ministries Building across the street from the church. Mom's get to visit with each other while the kids play in the same room. The age group of the children is anywhere from a few weeks old to about 3 or 4 yrs old. It's still kind of small, they just started it. If I hear of anything else, I will post it.
Mommy to 2 beautiful girls!

I am part of a moms group, Polk PlayGroup. We have a site www.polkplaygroup.com or you can email at admin@polkplaygroup.com. We meet twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays at 10am. Our playdates are in Lakeland and Bartow at parks and other locations. We also have a monthly Mom's Night Out, and Holiday events. There's no fee to join. It's just nice to get out and meet other moms and let the kids socialize.

im a new business.. Bullfrogs & Butterflies - children's consignment shoppe, and I have lots of space in the lobby and a small playroom. I would be happy to do a mommy playday type of thing. theres clothing racks but the main lobby area would be fine for a get together and do snacks or something. If one of the groups is interestead you can Email me or call me at 683-2000 I know even super moms need a break every once in a while to stay sane.
What is book babies in bartow all about.. My son will be one in a week, is he to young for these activities.. I moved her over a year but i am trying to meet other young mothers..
book babies is a wonderful reading program at the bartow library. i go almost every week. it is from birth to 2 yrs. and i can tell you there are birth to 2 yr olds there. the lady that runs it is very wonderful. she usually trys to read 2 books then she gets the kids up singing and dancing, marching, she does finger plays with the kids. the thing i love is my 2 yr old does not sit still and she doesn't mind the kids wondering around the room.
i highly recommend this program!!!

Melissa I would recomend this program. Your one year old would be the perfect age to go. It is a lot of fun and a great way to meet other mommies. If you go to the event calendar here on the Polk Moms site, you can enter in the word "library" and all the library programs from around the county will pull up.
Good luck and if you choose the Bartow location, we just might meet!
