Help! The only babysitter we have is my Mother-in-law, so my husband and I only get out (alone) once every three months or so. I just don't have any resources for finding a trustworthy and dependable babysitter. I don't have any other family here either...
at least you get to go out that much My husband and I have not had a date together since Van's birth 8 month ago We do not have famil around at all not yet to say we don't have any money to go out either, but If you need help and is in winter haven I can help you I am always willing to help fellow mom with sitting.
The way I found my babysitter was by putting an inquiry on my Home Owners Association Website. I also heard that you can call your local high school and they can sometimes recommend someone.

i have the same problem as you all do. the only family i gave are my grandparents that live close. and were not willing to call them to come watch our 2 yr old. so we never go out either. the last time we did go out we went to a comedy show (josh blue, he was excellent!!!)and my mom was coming into town the same day, from ny. so my grandparents came and watched my daughter for a couple hours till my mom arrived. that was nice of them but we can't do that much. i'm willing to help out but i live in ft meade.
Courtney, mom to Brooke and 1 on the way, that kicks all the time!!!

I am always willing to help out and babysit!! I am 24 years old with an 8 month old! My husband is a police officer so I can assure you that we are trustworthy! Please email me if you would like to get in touch!! Buns7@aol.com
I work at Florida Southern College, and if you are in the Lakeland area, it is a great resource. You can contact the Career Center and they will "advertise" your need. I work in the Education Department (where our future teachers receive their degrees) and most of our students work in the preschool lab and are fingerprinted by PCSB already and cleared background checks. You are guaranteed a sitter that loves children and are very responsible.
that sounds good its hard to find a good babysitter. i dont get out much with 3 kids even when my two oldest goes to their dads. i will have to look in to that.

VegasMom, that is so great, thank you for sharing that awesome information, the school may end up being bombarded by mommy calls, lol. I know we need a sitter, hubby and I never get to go out!
