On all three of my biological kids I have used nothing but Pampers, well until now. The price of everything has gone up! Gas, milk, etc., etc., and of course diapers. In the past couple of months I saw a box of Pampers, which would fluctuate between 16.98 to 21.99 a box go up to 25.98 to 31.99, a box. Gulp! I am the penny pinching queen, not only because I am on a budget, I just like to be thrifty. Since I have never tried anything else I thought I might try something new. Let me say, sometimes you get what you pay for. I always stayed with Pampers because I think they are great diapers. I have had no issues with Pampers fitting properly or leaks.
My poor daughter, the guinea pig, has for the first time in her life, wore a cheap diaper. Our results were not so great. We had some definite leak issues. So Moms, what diapers do you recommend? Is there anything else out there that is decently priced and works well?

We use Huggies for our 15 month old which work great, but they are still a little pricey. We use mfg coupons. Also you can sign up for the Publix Baby Club which sends you coupons in the mail for all sorts of goodies!

Well I went to Sams club the other day and broke down and bought the members mark brand, 30.00 for 200 diapers not too bad I just could not see my self buying huggies and pampers when you get so few diapers, s far they work just as goo as the White clouds I like I am hoping I can stick with them. I also joined the pubix baby club the give you a free book. and lots of coupons not just for baby stuff. I love publix.

i'm a pampers cruisers mommy, even though they cost more they are the only diaper that hasn't leaked for me. my sister likes target brand diapers. but when i tryed them my daughter leaked every time. her son is only 8 months old so maybe the smaller diapers work better for younger kids. about once a month there are pampers coupons in the news paper.

Update at our house,

about a week and 1/2 ago I finally got through those cheap diapers and went back to Pampers. I guess I will stay with those unless I can get more feedback on something else to try. Moms, I am definitely still interested in your feedback.

Ann, I noticed you posted about huggies, do you find them narrow? It was a long time ago, but I was given some huggies at a baby shower, and I thought they were not broad enough for my "hippy" Big Grin children. Maybe I wasn't using the right size? Any other moms use huggies? What do you think? I thought the huggies worked well, just fit small on my wee ones. To me it seems Huggies coupons are easier to come by than the pampers ones.

I've always used Huggies Snug and Dry (which is a little less expensive than the Huggies Natural Fit) on my son who is now 23 months old. We've never had an issue with it. Huggies is a bit pricier, and the manufacturer's coupons and Publix coupons do help.

We are a huggies family. My 10 month old already weighs in at over 27 pounds and the size four work great. I prefer the huggies supreme but they are more expensive. We also use the overnites at bedtime. He hates to feel wet so we change often. We also love the baby club and with coupons we can get a decent price at publix which is the most conveinent thing for us.

We used Huggies from the time my now 2 year old was born, but a few months ago when we transitioned from diapers to trainers we started having problems with her wetting through her clothes - A LOT! We decided to try the Wal-Mart brand (can't remember what it is) and they actually fit her much better. I think we've only had one accident through the diaper and that was during a car trip (my fault!).

I have went through several brands of diapers including:
Huggies
Parent's Choice
CVS
Luvs
White Cloud
Huggies Supreme
Target
Pampers Baby Dry
Pampers Cruisers

Of all of them, I am sticking with the Pampers Baby Dry and Pampers Cruisers. They are the only ones I have found that don't leak with my 15 month old daughter........and it only took a year to find the right kind! :-D

I was able to use any kind of diaper with my daughter which was great - she didn't leak out of any of them and I happily bought the cheaper Target or Walmart brands.

My son is a different story and I find that I have to use Pampers Cruisers with him. I generally buy them at Sam's Club. He is starting to leak through these at night though and I am thinking I need to try the 'diaper doublers' from Publix for overnight.

There are usually coupons in the Sunday papers for Pampers pretty regularly.

Also - I had a problem with one box of pampers I bought recently - the tabs were not applied correctly and about 1 in 5 diapers was useless - I emailed the manufacturers and I got two $10 off coupons in the mail.

I also know that if you write to a company with a compliment on their product they may also send coupons - it's worth a shot?

I have a 3 year old boy (who we are still trying to potty train)and a 17 month old girl (who may very well be potty trained before my son)and I have struggled with the diaper issue for so long but have found a solution that works pretty well for us. I won't lie, my very favorite diaper is Pampers Cruisers but b/c of cost (especially with 2 in diapers) we only use those at night or nap time (or, for instance, on long car rides) and during the day I use LUVS. We do not have a problem with leaks with LUVS if I just use them during the day and they are so much cheaper and I often get great coupons through Target.

I swore by LUVS with the girls. We've used them with Bryson- but he leaks out of them by time he gets out of bed in the am. So we'd use pampers at night. With our new baby Gavin we've used the huggies and pampers preemie's and newborns. He is just getting out of newborn and the LUVS seem to work well for him. Also, they have a guarantee- you try them if they leak you get you money back!! They are not the cheapest diaper on the shelve but cheaper than huggies and pampers.

I agree with ALL the moms....I love pampers, but with cost of everything going thru the roof...we had to switch. I am now hooked on huggies. They haven't leaked on me thus far and that's great. Luvs leaked, so I don't rec them. FYI...Target runs great promos like, buy 2 cases on Huggies for $20.00 each (that's on sale) and get a $5 target card. I always try to hold out for that deal!

Michelle that is a great deal at Target. If you don't mind, let us know when they are doing that special again so us moms can stock up. Thanks for the info!
