I have a 9 month old son and right now I am feeding him a jar of the stage 3 baby food three times a day, plus some snacks. My son loves to pick up the food with his fingers and feed himself and I would love to let him do this more but I am afraid if I give him only finger foods then he won't get the nutrition he needs. Does anyone have any advice about how to transition to all table food and make sure he still gets the nutrition he needs? Or know of any good web sites that talk about how much is a serving size and suggestions for menu ideas? Thanks, Mom in Davenport
my son is 16 months i started him off on the gerber gradutes about 9-10 months old and he loves them they have differnt kinds green beans carrots meat sticks and dinners he still eats them if u have any more ? fill free to ask

From 9 months old I fed both my kids what we were having each night for dinner. I just made sure it was mushy enough, or chopped up finely enough and they've done just fine
I would like to recommend the mesh feeder if you're concerned at all about choking (and who isn't? ) It's a little plastic mesh bag into which you can put pieces of fruit or vegetables and the baby can munch away without risk of any large chunks getting into their mouths or stuck in their throats.
i agree with you albee. i did that same thing for my daughter. i think i started mushy table food early. and i love the mesh bags. i used to put ice cubes and freezy pops in them and she would love that.

Ice cubes were great for teething in the mesh bags I found - I always ran some warm water over them first to prevent that 'burn' that can happen with ice.
