I don't know if you can get soy milk on wic or ask them to get it for you with a doctors script? I didn't have wic with Ryan and Lillian.
I think this could be something addressed with a pediatrician. Van could have a milk allergy. I am personally allergic to milk so I know the symptoms all to well! Ryan and Lillian have milk issues, Ryan more than Lilly. We used soymilk, Silk brand with extra calcium, as that was his main calcium source. He did great on this. They also sell it in Vanilla and Chocolate. Try the regular flavor first or you will never get him back to it. Why drink regular flavor when you could have chocolate? Regular Soy milk does make some jam up sausage gravy. It was Ryan's favorite, as in, wanting it morning, noon, and night! ~Mother to Brandon, Austin, Ethan, Ryan and Lillian~ |

The way I've done it with mine was started out with 1oz of whole milk mixed with 3 oz of formula or 2oz mixed with 6 oz of formula to make the 8 oz bottle. I did that for a few days then went up an ounce of whole milk and dropped an oz of formula till they were strictly on milk. I did the same thing when I had to switch formula's with Bryson- it caused him major bathroom issues but once we got it titrated right he was fine.

A friend of mine had the same problem with her daughter. She switched her over to soy milk, after her pediatrician suggested it. Everything cleared up immediately!

Definitely something to talk to the pediatrician about. When I was introducing regular milk the doctors warned me that it can cause constipation - the opposite of what you're dealing with.

we went to the doctor today she said to 1st go down to 2% then if that does not work try 1% and so on then if those don't work use soy or rice she said it is the milk fat that babies can't handle at first but can eventually but not always and since Van can eat cheese and othe milk product it is probally that. thanks all for the help I will post the results of what I try.
