Some FDA officials feel that Canada’s ban on BPA baby bottles was unfounded. For now, American is not following their lead in the ban. It is said that research is still being considered.

I am curious if any of you consider this an issue for you and yours?

If I had it to do over again, I think I would use glass baby bottles exclusively. Why chance it? When I had Ethan in Europe that is what the hospital gave me there to use. They were full size bottles.

When Ryan was born the hospital gave us the little 3 or 4 ounce glass sample bottles. I kept/ washed those bottles to reuse for them until he started drinking more than that size bottle would hold.

Something to consider if bottle feeding.

When this all came out I looked breifly for glass bottles but didn't see any, not sure if they are out now, we like our Dr. Brown bottles but would be willing to change.
I remember getting the glass bottles when I had my other children but with Sophie they were plastic bottles.

I just read an article the other day in the Tribune about BPA free bottles and they mentioned Dr. Browns. ( I loved these bottles)
The article said that Babies r us was going to offer refunds for older/used bottles and would issue credit for new models.
I called Toys R Us, no luck. I emailed Babies R Us, no luck.
So I emailed Handi-Craft who makes Dr.Browns and they informed me the orginal bottles were safe and were not recalled but they do now make a Polyprophlene (sp)and a glass bottle.
She said they will however offer free bottles, for every Poly or glass bottle you buy, you get one free. LIMIT 3 PER HOUSEHOLD. Must send upc code and receipt dated by June 30th.
I know Haines City Walmart did not have either bottle in stock so I will go to Target and Toy R us to get a 3 pack so I will get 3 free.
Not too bad of a deal.
She emailed me an article about the originals being safe, if you'd like to read it let me know.
