I found these two sites that tests your BMI (body mass index). It lets you know if your weight is in a healthy range. The sites calculates your BMI and gives ideal ranges as well. The first site said I was a touch high.

The second site takes into account your bone structure/frame. This one said I was all good. Big Grin

(needless to say the 2nd site is my fav, hee-hee)

But seriously, do you feel that everyone should be categorized with one chart when we are all built so differently? If anyone is so bold, you can give us your results.....

Check them out

I will be bold enough to report mine... On the first link my BMI was 22.1 (healthy weight) & the second link said my weight was ideal. So then why do I feel overweight??

I think the second one is the best. I do think that people need to take their body frame into consideration. We are all built differently, and the weight that might look healthy on you, might look overweight (or under) on the next person.

With a BMI of 19 the first one said I was at the ideal level. The one that takes in to account your body frame however said that I was slightly underweight.
I think these can be a good starting point, but no - I don't think everyone can accurately be characterized by the same chart. For example, I have a girlfriend who is the same height as me but weighs 20 pounds more. She is in no way overweight, she's just built differently.
I think it's especially important to not focus on these charts in a time when the social perception of what looks good tends to be so skewed toward an unhealthy weight for many people.

Okay all you skinny people, just wait until you turn "forty plus" years of age. Mad The fat monster will hunt you down and load you up with extra pounds! Ha! well, I am 22.6lbs over weight according to the second site. In my 20's and most of my 30's I could eat whatever and whenever without gaining! But let me tell you it is not that way anymore! I really do not like to exercise. I guess I am just lazy in this area. I use to actually enjoy walking lake Hollingsworth a couple of times a week when I lived on Southside. Is there anyone that lives on North side that would want to walk at Lake Parker park some time? Michelle (Savannah's mommy) that I met yesterday at the blueberry farm, if you would like to walk at the school (LGH) or where-ever please let me know. Having an accountability walking partner would be helpful I believe. I have a free YMCA membership that I would like to start using. If there is someone else (another "PM")that works out at the northside YMCA and would like some company, let me know. Thanks :) boxer421@tampabay.rr.com

littleT good points and how lucky for you!

Ann, there is not way you should have to lose 22 pounds, I just saw you yesterday.
I agree, the older I have gotten the harder it is for me to lose weight.

Shawn,

At blueberry picking you mentioned this to me and I had no idea what you were talking about. My husband told me what it was and I searched for your thread. Mine is like Rella123. Rella, I agree that you can look good, but still not feel good. Shawn, I look better in clothing, trust me! lol Big Grin Everyone feels good at certain points of weight. I don't feel great right now, so THANK YOU Shawn for your kindness! Smiler

Ann, I agree, the older you get and for me after our second son at 33, my metabolism did slow down! I can't just eat whatever whenever anymore either. By the way, Ann, you look amazing at "forty plus!!!!" Smiler
