The boys' seizures are considered generalized which is the type you most likely outgrow. They started with the febrile seizures and had those until they were about 2 1/2. We were in the play area at the mall when I noticed one of the boys go limp. It was terrible. That was when we realized they were no longer febrile.

In our case, they insist that they are genetically predisposed b/c my brother had them growing up (he outgrew them by the time he was 5) and I had a febrile seizure when I was a child.

Michelle, I can not imagine what you may have gone through with your child. Wow! Thanks for the prayers! Trust me, its continuous prayers for my boys that I know have gotten us this far.

Shawn, the boys have had several EEG's, the most recent at LRMC. What I hate about the EEGs that they don't really tell you too much unless they actually capture the seizure itself. The first EEG the boys had showed everything was normal, but then after the episodes at 2 1/2, every EEG has been abnormal since. I'll keep your little one in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm curious...what neurologists have you all seen? We started w/Hostler in WH, switched to Fernandez in Tampa, now we're with Quareshi in Lakeland. We started seeing her in January.

Jasmine, we are also seeing Dr. Quareshi in Lakeland. I have only seen her twice. I will have a more indepth appointment with her after the EEG, in mid June.

I do have to say that after years of dealing with some pretty insensitive drs and nurses/hospital staff, she does have the best bedside manner. Maybe because she's a woman (and maybe a mom herself?) she's so much more sensitive than some of the other people we've dealt with.
