I just wanted to say hello. I stumbled on Polk Moms a little while ago and I've already found some great info on things in the area. My family moved to Polk City about 2 months ago. We have 5 boys, ages 10, 7, 6, 3 and 18 months. I'm hoping to find some stuff going on around here so we can get out and start meeting people. It's rather lonely being in a new town.

Welcome to PolkMoms! I can so relate to being lonely in a new city. I moved here in June but thanks to PollMoms...I have met some true friends (in person and not). Polk City is not that far from where I am (North Lakeland), maybe we can get the little ones together for a playdate. I have an 8 year old (boy), 3 year old (girl) and a 17 month old (girl) and I am a SAHM. Just let me know when and where!!!

Yes and I hope that you keep whatever is in the water in Bartow and Polk City there. I wouldn't want to have to change from from mommy of 3!!

We've only been here since Aug so it's not Polk City's water for me - north Florida's was contaminated I guess! The 5 keep me hopping that's for sure, especially since my husband took the job in Orlando his hours have increased dramatically!! Glad to know there are others with larger families out there!
Mommy of 3 - I'd like to get to get the little ones together sometime - sounds fun. My 3 year old actually attends preschool through the school system and isn't home during the day, although I am considering withdrawing him. We'll see. |
