Lots of tips to research if you are considering adding a child to your home by means of adoption. If anyone knows of other good sites, please post.

There is another good site that is generic, but has wonderful information.
www.adoption.com This includes location adoption showing approximately 1000 children in the State of Florida ready for adoption. We used this tool along with many other websites when we were looking for children. My husband and I are currently in the process of adopting an 11 year old boy through the state system. The adoption should be finalized in June - yea! There are quite a few Heart Galleries in the State of Florida -- you can use the Internet Search to find these sites. Locations include Tampa Bay, Pinellas/Pasco County, Sarasota, Metro Orlando, Palm Beach County and Jacksonville. Here is also the Children's Home Society of Florida. www.heartgallerytampabay.org www.heartgallerykids.org www.heartgallerysarasota.org www.heartgallerymetroorlando.org www.heartgallerypbc.org www.heartgalleryjax.com www.chsfl.org We first tried to go locally through Heartland for Children but we were only contacted 2 times after our homestudy was finalized. So we went through Heart Galleries and Florida Children's Home Society websites and found our son. One thing I will tell everyone -- you need to call, call, call, call, call to get noticed at these agencies -- have patience, be kind, be persistent and your dreams will come true. --EE |
