I am sure there are moms who can and I hope will give more advise on this. Moms considering foster care, this is a link to the Florida Department of Children and Families. A place to start.

Hello everyone! I wanted to let you know that my husband and I attend a meeting for Foster and Adoptive Parents on the first Mon. of the month at First Baptist Church of Bartow. Child care is provided free of charge by church staff. Heartland for Children sets all that up for us. Attendance is mainly Foster Parents because they get credit for training hours that is required by Licensing. On Monday the 7th, we will be having a guest speaker, Mr. Franklin Shoemaker followed by a business meeting. We are planning on discussion about our Associations future & new officer election, So if you are a Foster Parent or Adoptive Parent you can attend. Time is 7-9 p.m.
Thanks!
Ann

Hello, so we had our meeting and nominated new officers. Paying members will vote next month. The association decided to be guided by the State Foster/Adopt Association until our association takes off. Our next meeting is Monday May 5th in which we will have a guest speaker from 7-8 p.m. and then from 8-9 we will vote for new officers. The meeting will be at First Baptist Church in Bartow.
ALSO: My husband and I attented an Informatiom meeting at the Florida Baptist Childrens home last evening. This meeting was to discuss their Foster Care and Adoption programs. We wanted to learn a little about their program opposed to "Heartland for Children's" program. We plan on being re-licensed as Foster Parents in the near future! I will post more soon! Thanks

Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you know the association that my husband and I attend changed it's name and meeting time. The association is now "TLC"Association, Inc. The "TLC" stands for Tender-Loving-Caregivers! We now meet the SECOND Monday of each month from 7-9p.m. at the First Baptist Church in bartow. Refreshments start at 6:45p.m. so we can start right in time! Our next meeting is August 11th.
Take Care

This is all very interesting info, I have a good friend considering both foster care and perhaps adoption down the road. I will have to pass this on to her. Smiler
