WE ALWAYS TRY TO PROTECT OUR KIDS. SOMETIMES, WE DON'T EVEN REALIZE THAT THINGS THAT WE DO EVERYDAY MIGHT BE HARMING THEM. BLEACH, 409, WINDEX, BATHTUB CLEANERS, ETC...ALL HAVE HARSH CHEMICALS AND SOME EVEN HAVE PESTICIDES IN THEM. I DIDN'T REALIZE IT. LOOK AT THE MSDS SHEETS ON THESE PRODUCTS...IT'S UNBELIEVABLE. I HAVE FOUND A SAFER AND HEALTHIER ALTERNATIVE THAT WORKS JUST AS WELL AS THESE PRODUCTS WITHOUT HARMING MY CHILDREN. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RESPOND TO ME. I'D LOVE TO HELP YOU MAKE YOUR CHILDREN HEALTHIER, AS WELL.

Hi 1jen3, I am glad that you are interested in PolkMoms. I have noticed your posts.

I can get the hint that you are selling products by your posts. It is Ledger and PolkMoms policy to not solicit products on their online sites.

In no way can you let someone know on this site that you are carrying products for sale. Also considering you are selling, I am sure it is safe to assume this, you are biased in your descriptive nature of the products you are discussing. I am sure you love your products as I love this website. I of course would be biased if I said PolkMoms is the best mom site on the internet. Do you understand my analogy?

I do hope and wish for you to post on topics at PolkMoms, but I would like for you to refrain from discussing products that you could be potentially selling. If I am wrong I apologize, if I am right you can contact Maulissa Ramersad if you are interested in advertising opportunities, her email is maulissa.rampersad@theledger.com

Thank you and have a great day!

My thoughts on all the posts here so far are that with Jen, I could understand her post coming off to Shawn as she was trying to sell a product, with saying "feel free to contact me about these products". If she was merely posting out of general concern, she would have posted the products as we all do, as an opinion of the products that we all use from stores.

Jen, if you are reading this, please don't think that I am bashing you or anything because that is the LAST thing I want to do to ANYONE.

Maybe I am completely wrong here, but I thought that POLKMOMS was created as a way for moms to share advice and opinions on a variety of subjects that do include maybe what we do use to clean our homes, but we state it merely as what works for us, not as us trying to sell a product. As far as the opinions on OB's, Hospitals, Day Cares, etc, I am so grateful that the ladies here do post information about these things because I can weigh the good opinions and the bad, and make my own decision on things. I know to myself and to other mothers, it is only logical to want the best of EVERYTHING for your children. American, I can agree that anything misconstrued as negative could come off to some as slander or libel, but it is a constitutional right we all have to state our opinions on various things, especially when it comes to the health of our children.

From what I understood of Shawn's post, it is Ledger and PolkMoms policy to not solicit products on their online sites.
As Shawn said, that is what the companies pay for advertising for on The Ledger sites, to solicit, to sell products.

American, I hope you do not have an issue with me after you read this post, as I am just stating my opinions as you have. I agree with a lot of what you had to say, and it was not just Jen, I agree that there were others, I saw it myself when I posted about my wedding.

Oh my goodness! I certainly didn't mean to cause a problem! Smiler I do have access to certain products that are healthier...but, I honestly didn't even read the "ins and outs" of Polk MOMS...I just thought it was an awesome website and I still do. I was simply trying to let other moms know about something that I found out. I will not post anything else about them. Shawn-thanks for the information about advertising. I will check into that for the people that do want to know.

Everyone---have a great evening!

1Jen3,

I strongly dislike drama, I feel this thread is fast heading in that direction at no fault to you. I was not trying to embarrass or upset you, just inform you of our online policies. I am glad that you have found PolkMoms and hope that you will come to talk to us about varied topics.

I always want to promote a fellow woman any way that I can and I am sorry PolkMoms forums is not the outlet for financial gain and unpaid advertising. There are good reasons for this.

I have actually had several emails and personal messages from other frequenting moms that said they felt your posts were advertising oriented. As one mom described it to me, and I agree, in life we are bombarded by spam and advertising, by phone solicitations, junk email, junk postal service mail, etc., that it is nice to not have to thumb through spam posts on PolkMoms. Going through posts and ensuring content specific information is posted is my job, not something moms should have to endure.

And an obvious reason is that it is not fair for paying advertisers to have to pay for their promotions/ advertising and then others to just post a free forum post.

I have emailed and personal messaged several individuals about advertising on this site. Considering I have had so many issues with this, I wanted to go ahead and use this thread to point out proper PolkMoms procedure.

Thank you ladies for your understanding,

Shawn Arnold

I understand. Thanks for informing me of the policies. I truly didn't take the time to look at them. My apologies for anyone that was offended by my information. I certainly wouldn't have considered it spam, though. Peace to everyone...Have a super week!
