.

Yes.

But he is in Orlando.

The reason I recommend him is because he is a mercury-free dentist.

He removed ALL of my mercury amalgams.

Dr. Hardy even wrote a book about this issue called "Mercury Free":

Here is his information:

Hardy James E DDS
213 Edinburgh Dr
Winter Park, FL 32792
Phone: (407) 678-3399

We love Dr. Billy B. Brown. I've been going to him for over 10 years and as soon as my children turned 4, I've been taking them as well.

This is definitely something we need too! Our older son has the small mouth (with a full mouth of teeth) of my husband, amazing we saw it immediately upon birth! Smiler Anyway, he's going to need oral surgery as my husband did, only we fear far sooner than his Daddy. Frowner

Jasmine, where is Dr. Billy B? I know where Dr. Plunkett is, momof5, and 18_watt, is your dentist an oral surgeon, too? Or could he recommend one?

Can we throw Oral Surgeon for Children into this discussion? Thank you- Michelle

Michelle, Billy B. Brown is in Bartow. I actually used him when I was a child, but not as an adult.

Thanks, Shawn, is he also an Oral Surgeon? I am also asking because we don't really care for who we see now and the boys have never been to a Pediatric Dentist, just a Family Dentist and now with the surgery needs, need someone else anyway.

I don't know if others experience this or not (we haven't because we just wouldn't allow it), but the Pediatric Dentists we know of (in Lakeland anyway) refuse to allow the parents back with the children.

Now, I aplogize if this comes out wrong, but there is something wrong with that. Not to mention it surprises my husband and me that any professional would keep this practice for lawsuit reasons.

I would never go to a dentist who refused to allow me to sit with or watch what was happening to/with our children. Not only that, but I have also been told that these Pediatric Dentists also LOCK the doors so the children can NOT get out! How scary that must be. For us, as adults, going to the dentist isn't a fun experience, so to force children under these policies is ridiculous. In our humble opinion.

Anyway, Family Friendly is what we need, open and willing to accept parents being with their children.

Michelle

Michelle,

I don't know the answer to that question.

I apologize.

The only surgery I've ever had to have on teeth was in Texas - but I'm sure he knows someone if he's not one himself.

I am not sure where you live but, in Lakeland my boys go to Dr. Nancy Montgomery and she and her whole staff is amazing. So great with the kids and very stress relieving for the parents. In the waiting room they have toys and movies but back in the dental area they have all kinds of things for the children to do while they wait and in my opinion to lower their stress as well. We love her.

I am very sorry I should have read the question more carefully about children and adults. I do not know of any yet either as I have never liked any of my dentists so I am still searching, but my children are to young still to go to most of the child/Adult dentists.

Dr. Montgomery's office requests parents stay in the waiting room until exam is finished, however I do know they did not refuse any of the parents to go back.

I though would actually prefer this. I know how I was as a kid and my children will stay still and calm much better if I am not back there. My 2 year old would never let them do there job as he always wants me if he sees me. I know this may sound weird for some but in my experience it has been best for all of us and she always brings me back after the cleaning etc. and shows me everything - she is very thorough.
