Considering this is a fairly new vaccine, I am surprised that it has become so popular.

My sister did get the series for my 12 year old niece.

I have started the vaccine for my 14 year old daughter as well. Uterine and Ovarian cancer run in the family. This is actually done over the course of 2-3 injections. It is a fairly new vaccine. However, I researched this in depth and chose to go forth.

My 13 yr old received her shots last year. I have a friend who battled cervical cancer last year, which was contraacted through HPV. Thankfully, she is here with is today, but not without a hysterectomy, and chemo. What she went through is nothing I can bare my child to go through. Why not protect them now. And I will not get into this--b/c I think it is complete BS...about people saying the shot condones teenage sex. Kids are kids, and will not do one thing more than another b/c they got a certain vaccine. And that is ALL I will say about that!

I'm with 18watt_fan. And thanks for all the links and research you've already done regarding this important decision. I hope people read them and think twice about their decision. We are a pharmaceutically driven society for profit at our expense, often negatively.
