Here is the recipe for the baked beans I brought to the picnic. I hope you enjoy!!

1 lb hamburger (I used ground turkey)
1/4 lb bacon (I used turkey bacon)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can pork and beans (do not drain)
1 can lima beans (drain)
1 can kidney beans (drain some)
1/2 cup brown sugar (I use Splenda brown sugar)
2 tbsp vinegar
1/2 cup catsup
1 tbsp mustard
Salt & pepper to taste

Brown hamburger with bacon and onion. Combine with remaining ingredients in large casserole. Bake at 300 degrees for 1-1/2 hours.

That is really interesting that you used low fat versions of the meats to make this. People still loved it! Awesome! Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Thanks for sharing that recipe mommyof3. Smiler

I will have to borrow this one now too, funny, I just used ground turkey for my spaghetti the other night.
Nice that you can substitute with the beans, I'm looking forward to trying that now.

We only use ground turkey. I haven't bought hamburger in I couldn't tell you how long. I can tell you...if my son doesn't know the difference, then NO ONE will!!! We use it for everything that calls for hamburger. I also only use turkey bacon. I buy Butterball because it is cheaper but it also holds up better than other brands I have tried. Just thought I would share!!!
