Another helpful tool for kids chores is www.handipoints.com. It allows you to set up a task calendar and the children enter a check mark if they did each chore on the list and get points. The points can be used for gifts from Mom and Dad for good work or to be used to purchase clothes etc. for the cat that they get when they join. They then can play a game with other kids on the site with their cats. I actually use it for my 2 and 4 year old and especially for my 4 year old it is awsome. Check it out.
