Hi Ladies, I wanted to post random tips that make life a little easier that I have come up with. Please add any tips you feel could be handy.
Use paper clips to clip the ends of your wrapping paper to the tube. No unraveling of paper. When you buy a frozen pie, it comes with a plastic "dome" cover. They make great water reservoirs for plants. If you have small plants (violets in the window) I use Pringles chips lids for those to sit my pots in. ~Mother to Brandon, Austin, Ethan, Ryan and Lillian~ |

There is a lot of things that can be saved and re-used. Like washing plastic baggies or foil for instance. I guess if we really look at what we are about to throw away we could probably use if for something else, somewhere.
This is really helpful considering how everything is going up so much. ------------------------------------------------- "By perseverance the snail reached the ark." - Charles H. Spurgeon “Never let us be guilty of sacrificing any portion of truth on the altar of peace." - J.C. Ryle My Blog |

one thing i have done was save the pringles cans. my sister lives in va and every once in a while she will say she misses homemade cookies. so i make a batch and mail them in the prigles cans. the cans are nice because the cookies don't get squished.

the ends of the bread come in handy when your homemade cookies are a couple days old and getting hard and stale. take a piece of bread, put it in the container with your cookies and in a couple hours your cookies are nice and soft again. this also works when you over bake them.

if your flour gets buggy before you get to use it. keep it in the freezer. flour doesn't freeze and it keeps the bugs out. i always pull out what i'm going to use then let it get to room temp before baking with it.

Here's one that's good for those who suffer with sinus difficulties, and can also be good for cold & virus protection. I swear by it, but from what I hear, you have to see if it works for you, doesn't for everybody, but does for many.
Echinacea and goldenseal ~ it can be found in combo at most herbal aisles, even at Walmart & some drugstore vitamin sections. And they even have children's gummy vitamins (at Walmart again) at least where I know they cam be found with echinace added to a regular kid's vitamin supplement. Although, I have heard if you have a certain allergy to the type of plant echinacia is, it might not work for you, or could activate the allergy somewhat, better to avoid in that case. Otherwise, for some people, it's a wonderful aid and immunity booster, I know it's been helpful to our family, all but one of our children have benefitted from this herbal supplement. Thanks greatfulcp ~ I too drink the tea, I forgot to share that method, it's actually really helpful too if you've already come down with a sore throat, hot tea always seems to help.

i love magic erasers!!! i use them on all my daughters shoes before i put them away. they clean up white shoes really well. i also use them on walls to get marks off (just make sure your paint is NOT flat paint). the other thing is my daughter drew on some of her toys and they took the marker off the toys no problem.
