This is amazing. I talked to a mom a couple of weeks ago and she said she still can not get a wii for her children due to shortages of the system. Apparently she is not the only one frustrated.
Did any of you have any wii frustrations at Christmas or even still going? This article discusses the ongoing shortage. http://us.i1.yimg.com/videogames.yahoo.com/feature/cons...-still-short/1201850 ~Mother to Brandon, Austin, Ethan, Ryan and Lillian~ Breaking Lillian of the bink. American, maybe that is a good thing. It is the newest model of a Nintendo game console. According to my children, it is the greatest thing ever. When I saw my boys open theirs at Christmas, I expected it to be made of gold or shine like the sun-lol.
I will add my adventure of locating this wii later. I want to hear other mom stories about trying to or actually getting a hold of one of these coveted systems. ~Mother to Brandon, Austin, Ethan, Ryan and Lillian~ Breaking Lillian of the bink. Just call me, "The Bad Guy" |

my husband went out at midnight the night they came out and stood in line at walmart to get one. and we got the last one. hurray. i may be 29 but i love my wii. lol. i have to say guitar hero is the best game out there. but the bowling is also fun. i have read in the paper that nursing homes are starting to use them for physical therapy. the bowling game gets there arms moving like your actually bowling. and i think they have a dancing game for it. it really gets you up and not just sitting there to play. i'm waiting for a game to come out that was like the original nintendo's track and field. were you had the mat and you ran in place again other people. the other thing i like about the wii is if you have high speed internet you can plug in and play some of the games with people from other places. like i can log in and play guitar hero with my brother in new york. i hope i'm not the only wii fan out there.

Unbelievable, these things seem to be in shortage still. Yesterday I was in Walmart shopping and over the speaker a young man came on announcing he was in the entertainment department and they had one wii in the store. If any one was interested the first to arrive would get it. I actually saw people running that way!

Why is there a shortage now? They must be planning another model for Christmas I bet. Just so people will have to find the new one too. I do think the one thats for exercise looks kinda interesting though.
On the news last night it showed how pawn shops are getting an overflow of stuff because people need gas money. One thing they did show was the wii systems. That one pawn shop must have had 5 systems on his counter top. Mommy to Lacie, #2 coming soon !!! |

as far as i know nintendo is not planing another system for a while. the shortage is because all diffrent age groups love this system. they have games for everyone. i know my husbands family bought one for his grandmothers nursing home, it helps with physical therapy. my mother in law just got the system she loves how you really feel like your bowling. and i know she's looking for the wii fit to help her excerise. i love the system because i get to play games online with relatives from other states. mario cart racing with a sibling who lives half way across the country is fun. it feels like there next to you. you just can't yell at them if they win!!!
i also love that they have brought back sooo many of the old original games you can download. from the very first nintendo game system. |

I like the Wii because you have to be standing to actually play the game. You are not just sitting there lazily on the sofa or something. I see my nieces and nephews playing their PSP's all the time - and I can't stand it. They will sit down for hours just playing. I don't think it is good for them (which is exactly why my kids will NOT be getting those). However, My Husband & I have been thinking about the Wii.

boys mommy, We have a Wii at our house and we all love it. It’s a lot of fun. My kids think it is cool that mom and dad play with them- it actually gives an opportunity for family fun. And you are right, it does get you up and going. After one night of Wii boxing hubby could hardly move the next day.
It is expensive to get going. The controls are a lot and we have 4 controls of about 3 different types- 3x4=12 controls- yikes. And the games are pricey- I hope to see this stuff become more reasonable as time goes on. It doesn’t seem to be the case though when you can’t even find the system and it is still in such high demand ~Mother to Brandon, Austin, Ethan, Ryan and Lillian~ Breaking Lillian of the bink. Okay, I don't have a Wii, but my dad has one and it has made me think Nintendo could have really come up with a different name-It is really embarrasing when he asks me in front of my Pastor if I was coming over to play with his Wii!!! Maybe my mind was in the gutter, but I just could not stop from turning red.

I love my Wii and it took me a lot of frustration to get one! At Christmas time we missed getting one by less than a minute (the BestBuy guy was "nice" enough to show me the back of the man who just purchased the last one). I finally ended up getting one just in time for my daughters birthday! We *love* it and we've played it so much I think we've broken the Sports disk (not loading anymore) which breaks my heart because on Wii bowling I don't break my fingernails (vs real bowling where I do) and the boxing is awesome.
Now we're trying to get the Wii Fit and can't ever find that in stock! Yes, there is a dance one... I can find the dance pad but never the game (it's called something Party, I don't remember). I agree that the accessories are expensive but the family time it creates for me and my girls (and the laughter) are priceless! I don't have a name anymore, I've simply become "Alyssa's mom" or "Alexis' mom" |

Scrappin mom that s was too funny. I bet my dad would say the very same thing. LOL
How many of you have the Wii Fit? Do you feel like it helps? I did see online that Toys R us said they have plenty in stock. I don't know what kind they mean but if your looking try there. Black Friday is closer than we think and I might be interested in getting one. Mommy to Lacie, #2 coming soon !!! |

Melissa, I agree with you, Lisa -scrappin mom - is so funny! That post had me laughing so hard!
The only electronic or technology we are keen on are/is for stereo equipment and the basic use of our computer. Our boys have a hand held game each, but share. One of those old version football games (my brother had one that I still have and cherish because it reminds me of him, the boys aren't allowed to play that one) and a battleship game. I personally have a tv game with the lap control for Ms. Packman and a few others, but I played that thing a couple of times and ended up with bruises on my thighs from trying to stabilize the hand control while playing. We've only recently gotten into some arcade games. At our timeshare, they have a huge gameroom with foosball, air hockey, hunting, pinball, and many other games typical of an arcade. I am quite the aim/shot with that hunting game. I also figured out how some people get such high scores on the Packman games. They keep inserting coins to continue their game. They weren't like that back in the day that I recall! Anyway, I'm a sucker for the older games. Oh, NO! Am I getting so old that I believe the better things were those of my youth??!! Yikes!
